Olumide Oworu Critiques Nigeria's Political Landscape

Oworu argued that this mindset creates a dangerous environment where individuals may go to extreme lengths to maintain power, leading to unhealthy political practices. He criticized the influence of political godfathers, stating that mentorship in politics should not equate to control over elected officials.

Oworu called for structural reforms in Nigeria's political environment to allow capable individuals to participate without relying on powerful backers. He highlighted that the current political culture distorts the purpose of public service, which should benefit citizens, and that many young Nigerians are reluctant to engage in politics due to its negative perception.
