Mourinho Addresses 2015 Carneiro Controversy in Documentary

In a recent Netflix documentary titled "MOURINHO," Real Madrid head coach Jose Mourinho revisited his controversial 2015 confrontation with former Chelsea doctor Eva Carneiro. The incident occurred during Chelsea's 2-2 Premier League draw against Swansea City in August 2015 when Carneiro and physiotherapist Jon Fearn entered the pitch to treat Eden Hazard.

Mourinho was upset, believing Hazard was not injured, and his reaction led to Carneiro alleging sexual discrimination. Mourinho described Carneiro and Fearn as “impulsive and naive” and later defended his actions, stating that gender played no role in his response.

He emphasized that he perceived Hazard as uninjured and criticized the medical staff's decision to enter the pitch. Former Chelsea captain John Terry noted that players understood Mourinho's expectations regarding medical interventions.

Carneiro pursued legal action against Chelsea and Mourinho, resulting in a confidential settlement in 2016, with Chelsea issuing an apology to her. Mourinho did not apologize publicly at the time.
