Widow of Mr. Ibu Defends Property Sales Amid Controversy

Stella Mari Okafor, the widow of late Nollywood actor John Okafor, known as Mr. Ibu, has defended her actions regarding the sale of her husband's properties following his death.

She claims that all transactions involving the estate were conducted legally and with the necessary approvals. In a video interview, she addressed allegations made by her son, Somtochukwu Okafor, who accused her of selling properties without family knowledge and mismanaging funds donated during the actor's illness.

Stella Mari stated that the sale of properties in Enugu for 17 million Naira and Asaba for 11 million Naira was done with consent from her two sons, Valentin and Daniel Okafor, and followed a valid court order. She revealed that financial disagreements within the family began shortly after Mr.

Ibu's burial, with some relatives demanding a share of the burial funds. The family is reportedly facing financial difficulties, including unpaid electricity bills and school fees for the children, prompting public appeals for assistance, which have garnered significant attention.
