TAMPAN President Calls for Prayer Session After Ogogo's Death

Bolaji Amusan, popularly known as Mr Latin, who serves as the Global President of the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), issued a memorandum on August 26, 2026, to all TAMPAN state governors and executives. This directive followed the death of beloved Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan, known as Ogogo, who passed away on August 23, 2026, after battling stage 4 cancer.

The memorandum calls for a special prayer session to be included in their next state meetings, focusing on seeking God's face, forgiveness of sins, and divine protection for living members, as well as peaceful rest for the deceased. Ogogo's death, which occurred on August 23, 2026, was met with widespread grief in the Nigerian film industry, with many notable figures attending his memorial.

His passing adds to a series of losses in the industry throughout 2026, including the deaths of Elegbeje Ado, Kola Oyewo, Adeshina Okiki, Aunty Ajara, and Allwell Ademola.
