Mr Macaroni Explains His Break from Political Commentary

Adebowale Adedayo, popularly known as Mr Macaroni, has revealed the reasons for his noticeable reduction in political commentary. He addressed this after Wazobia FM shared an old interview discussing threats he received due to his involvement in the EndSARS protests.

Although the interview is over two years old, he stated that the issues raised remain pertinent. Mr Macaroni highlighted that the primary concern is not the threats but rather the tendency of Nigerians to complain about issues before quickly moving on.

He expressed fatigue over the repetition of the same messages without sustained public pressure for change. Additionally, he recounted facing persecution and criticism for opposing government policies, noting that some Nigerians he aimed to represent turned against him, branding him as “troublesome.” He indicated that a statement he made in March 2026, which heavily criticized President Bola Tinubu’s administration, marked the point when he decided to take a break from government criticism, although he clarified that this break is not permanent.
