MTN Nigeria's Profit Jumps 59.4% to N1.80 Trillion in 2026

MTN Nigeria Communications Plc (NGX: MTNN) announced a 59.4% rise in pre-tax profit to N1.80 trillion for the nine months ending September 30, 2026, compared to N1.13 trillion in the same period of 2025. This growth was attributed to stronger data revenue, increased subscriber numbers, and improved operating margins.
For Q3 2026, pre-tax profit rose by 39.6% to N704.1 billion from N504.2 billion in Q3 2025. Total revenue increased by 23.6% to N4.61 trillion from N3.73 trillion.
Operating profit also saw a significant rise of 38.2% to N1.99 trillion, while profit after tax increased by 55.3% to N1.17 trillion. Karl Toriola, the Chief Executive Officer, noted the acceleration in service revenue growth due to higher customer usage and data adoption.
The company’s mobile subscriber base grew by 10.9% to 94.7 million. However, fintech revenue declined by 25.9% to N97.5 billion, reflecting a temporary service suspension earlier in the year.
