Mudiame University Approved to Offer Medicine and Surgery Programs in Nigeria

Mudiame University in Edo State, Nigeria, has been granted approval by the National Universities Commission (NUC) to establish Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) programs starting from the 2025-2026 academic session. The university's Vice Chancellor, Professor Emmanuel Osikhuemeh Aluyor, confirmed the institution's readiness to deliver the programs.

The move is part of Nigeria's efforts to curb medical tourism and brain drain in the healthcare sector. Chancellor Sunni Eromosel highlighted the university's vision to enhance domestic medical innovation and strengthen the country's healthcare research capabilities.
