NUC Approves 13 New Courses for Nigerian Universities to Enhance Academic Relevance

The National Universities Commission (NUC) has sanctioned 13 new degree programs for Nigerian universities to bolster academic standards and align with global trends. The approved courses cover a wide range of disciplines such as artificial intelligence, sports management, and nuclear science.

These additions aim to enhance the academic relevance of Nigerian higher education institutions. The programs are expected to be fully developed by March 2025, with 70% of the content drawn from the Nigerian university system.

The remaining 30% will be in line with the Core Curriculum Minimum Academic Standards (CCMA) provisions.
