Multi-Trex Integrated Foods delays 2026 audited accounts filing

Multi-Trex Integrated Foods Plc filed a corporate action notice with Nigerian Exchange Limited on 2 November 2026, disclosing that its Audited Financial Statements for the year ended 30 April 2026 have not yet been filed. The deadline for submission was 29 July 2026, and the NGX cure period under its default filing rules has also lapsed.

The company attributed the delay to legacy challenges stemming from a seven-year period under the intervention of the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria, which ended with a handback in 2022. During that period, accounting records dating back to 2014 were damaged, lost or vandalised, and staff carrying institutional memory in the finance function were among over 200 employees laid off. The NGX had previously granted the company a two-year moratorium in November 2024 to re-establish filing compliance.

The board confirmed that Baker Tilly Nigeria has now completed the audit. Governance meetings, including those of the Statutory Audit Committee, Board Finance, Risk and Audit Committee, and the full Board, are scheduled within the next two weeks to consider and approve the accounts. The company expects to file the 2026 AFS with the Exchange on or before 20 November 2026.
