Mutilated Body Discovered in Jos, Investigation Underway

On Thursday at approximately 9:30 a.m., a mutilated female corpse was discovered in Jos, Nigeria, after security operatives responded to a report of an abandoned body. Family members had initiated a search for the woman when she failed to return home, leading them to find her body near a stream within a forest reserve.

The corpse exhibited machete injuries on the arm and face. A staff member of the park, who requested anonymity due to lack of authorization to speak, reported that workers discovered the body upon waking and promptly contacted security operatives.

Security personnel, including soldiers, arrived at the scene to conduct an initial assessment and began an investigation to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the woman's death and to determine if any criminal elements were involved.
