Femi Fani-Kayode Appointed Nigeria's Ambassador to South Africa

Femi Fani-Kayode, a former Minister of Aviation, has been appointed as Nigeria's Ambassador-designate to South Africa. In a statement released on Thursday in Abuja, he expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve Nigeria and pledged to contribute to the country's foreign policy objectives in Africa.

Fani-Kayode cited his long-standing interest in South Africa and emphasized the importance of pan-African cooperation. He acknowledged President Bola Tinubu's approval of his redeployment from Germany, where he had previously served.

The decision was facilitated by the Nigerian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar, who considered Fani-Kayode's request favorably. Fani-Kayode also addressed media narratives regarding his redeployment, urging professionalism in reporting and dismissing any misleading information.

He looks forward to representing Nigeria in South Africa, a nation he described as having an inspiring history.
