NAF Airstrike Destroys Bandit Enclave, Rescues 76 Hostages In Katsina

The Nigerian Air Force conducted an airstrike on a bandit enclave in Katsina State, rescuing 76 hostages, including women and children, on August 23. The strike targeted the Pauwa Hill in Kankara Local Government Area, a stronghold of the notorious kingpin Babaro gang responsible for recent attacks in the region.

The precision raid resulted in the destruction of the hideout, with only one child confirmed dead during the rescue operation. State Commissioner of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Nasir Muazu, praised the coordination between the air and ground forces and highlighted the government's mission to dismantle criminal networks and restore safety in the community.

The Nigerian Air Force, Army, and other agencies were commended for their bravery, with the state government pledging continued support for logistics and community engagement. Residents were urged to remain vigilant and provide timely information to aid security efforts.
