NAF Airstrike Eliminates Terrorists in Sambisa Forest

On April 19, 2023, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) conducted an airstrike in Sambisa Forest, Borno State, targeting terrorists based on credible intelligence. The operation, part of a joint task force initiative in the northeast, involved the deployment of air assets that engaged and destroyed fortified structures used by the terrorists.

NAF spokesperson Ehimen Ejodam reported that multiple fighters were neutralized during the operation, which followed intelligence surveillance confirming the presence of terrorist hideouts. The success of this operation was assessed through subsequent battle damage evaluations, reaffirming NAF's commitment to maintaining an intelligence-driven approach to military operations.

Ejodam emphasized that the NAF will continue to intensify precise strikes across the theater while adhering strictly to rules of engagement to minimize civilian harm, ensuring the safety of personnel and citizens.
