NAF Airstrikes Target Terrorists in Borno State, March 2026

On March 17, 2026, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) conducted airstrikes on terrorist hideouts in Abirma, located in the Southern Axis Lake Chad region of Borno State. The operation was confirmed by NAF spokesperson Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodam, who stated that the strikes were based on credible intelligence and surveillance.

Aerial observations indicated the presence of terrorist fighters and their movements around concealed structures. The NAF executed precise strikes that resulted in the destruction of multiple terrorist structures, significantly degrading their capacity to launch ground attacks across the Lake Chad basin.

Following the airstrikes, Nigerian Army troops coordinated efforts to neutralize several terrorists during an infiltration attempt in Malam Fatori, Abadam Local Government Area, on March 18, 2026. This joint response successfully prevented the insurgents from breaching defensive positions, reinforcing ongoing stabilization efforts in border communities.

Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Sundai Kelvin Anek reassured that the NAF remains committed to protecting innocent lives and executing operations in adherence to international standards.
