Nigerian Air Force Reports 6,100 Flying Hours in 2026

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) reported that between November 2025 and September 2026, it completed more than 6,100 flying hours and conducted over 2,900 sorties, utilizing close to 10 million litres of Jet A-1 fuel in support of national security operations. This information was shared by the Director of Public Relations and Information, NAF, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, ahead of the first anniversary of Air Marshal Sunday Aneke as Chief of the Air Staff on October 30.
The operations included precision air strikes, armed reconnaissance, surveillance, and close air support, all aimed at degrading hostile elements and enhancing ground forces' effectiveness. Ejodame emphasized that these missions were guided by actionable intelligence and defined objectives.
He also noted that under Aneke's transformation agenda, personnel welfare was prioritized, leading to promotions for 57 senior officers and training for over 6,000 personnel. Additionally, the NAF received five new helicopters and is pursuing the acquisition of 12 AH-1Z attack helicopters.
