NAF and NIMASA Enhance Maritime Security Partnership

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) and the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) have reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing maritime security in Nigeria. Dr.

Dayo Mobereola, the Director General of NIMASA, made this announcement during a strategic visit to the NAF headquarters in Abuja, where he met with the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sundai Kelvin Anek. The partnership aims to consolidate operational cooperation and enhance maritime domain awareness in support of the federal government's Blue Economy agenda.

Mobereola emphasized the importance of maritime security for Nigeria's economic stability and highlighted the country's achievement of zero piracy incidents in its territorial waters over the past four years, attributing this success to inter-agency collaboration. Air Marshal Anek reiterated NAF's readiness to expand its maritime support operations, utilizing advanced surveillance aircraft and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to ensure real-time situational awareness and protect critical offshore infrastructure.
