NAF and NIMASA Collaborate for Maritime Security

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) and the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) have formed a partnership aimed at securing Nigeria's deep blue economy. During a courtesy visit by Dr.

Dayo Mobereola, Director General and Chief Executive Officer of NIMASA, Air Marshal Sundai Kelvin Anek, Chief of Air Staff, reaffirmed NAF's commitment to enhancing operational synergy with NIMASA. The collaboration is part of a strategic engagement to bolster maritime security and support the federal government's blue economy agenda.

Anek outlined NAF's robust air capabilities tailored for maritime roles, including long-range surveillance aircraft and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance missions. He emphasized the need for real-time situational awareness and rapid response capabilities to protect critical offshore infrastructure.

Dr. Mobereola highlighted the importance of maritime security for economic stability and investor confidence, noting Nigeria's achievement of zero piracy incidents in its territorial waters over the past four years.
