NAFDAC Arrests Two for Repackaging Expired Drinks

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) arrested two suspects during a raid at the Trade Fair Complex in Lagos on Tuesday. The agency acted on intelligence reports regarding the repackaging of expired drinks and the production of adulterated wines and hot drinks.
Mrs Christiana Obiazikwor, NAFDAC’s Deputy Director of Public Affairs, stated that the operation reflects the commitment of NAFDAC's Director-General, Professor Mojisola Adeyeye, to eliminate fake and expired products from the market. Obiazikwor emphasized that NAFDAC conducts daily raids to prevent unsafe products from reaching consumers and urged the public to report suspected manufacturers and distributors of fake products.
Kunle Ojo, the Deputy Enforcement Officer, condemned the production of fake drinks, warning of the potential dangers to consumers, especially with the Christmas season approaching. He called for public cooperation in providing information to help identify and apprehend those involved in such activities.
