NAFDAC Bans Sale of Sachet Alcohol Below 200ml, Citing Health Risks

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has begun enforcing a ban on the sale of alcohol in sachets and small bottles below 200ml to protect public health, particularly minors and young adults. The Director-General of NAFDAC, Prof.

Senator Ned Nwoko raised concerns over alcohol abuse among school children, leading to bipartisan support for the ban. Manufacturers are directed to reduce alcohol content to 30% to mitigate health hazards.
