NAFDAC and PCC Enhance Collaboration Against Counterfeits

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), under the leadership of Director-General Professor Mojisola Adeyeye, is committed to strengthening its strategic partnerships with relevant government institutions to combat the circulation of counterfeit medicines and unwholesome food products in Nigeria. This commitment was reaffirmed during a meeting with Bashir Abubakar, the Chief Commissioner of the Public Complaints Commission (PCC).

Professor Adeyeye emphasized the importance of collaboration with government entities and stakeholders to effectively address the challenges posed by substandard and falsified products. She stated that NAFDAC's operations are based on compliance with both national and international regulatory standards to ensure the safety and quality of regulated products in Nigeria.

Bashir Abubakar commended NAFDAC's efforts and advocated for an expanded inter-agency collaboration framework to enhance intelligence gathering and enforcement across the supply chain, contributing to a more comprehensive approach to tackling counterfeiting.
