FCID and NAFDAC Strengthen Alliance Against Counterfeits

The Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Annex in Lagos and the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) have reinforced their collaboration to combat counterfeit and substandard food, drugs, and other regulated products that pose risks to public health and the economy. This renewed commitment was established during a courtesy visit by Assistant Inspector-General of Police Simeon U.

Akpanudom to the NAFDAC Directorate of Investigation and Enforcement. Martins Iluyomade, the Director of Investigation and Enforcement, acknowledged the partnership as a significant advancement in enforcement against criminal networks involved in the production and distribution of fake products.

AIG Akpanudom proposed a training program led by a five-member FCID team, including DCP Agbo, focusing on forensic science, investigative techniques, and public health protection. He emphasized the importance of including FCID officers in the training to enhance their knowledge and effectiveness in policing, stating that knowledge acquisition is vital for a safer society.
