NALDA Launches High-Tech Greenhouse Initiative to Boost Vegetable Production in Nigeria

The National Agricultural Land Development Authority (NALDA) has introduced a nationwide greenhouse farming initiative to enhance vegetable production throughout the year. The project, approved by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, aims to reduce the country's dependence on seasonal vegetables by establishing high-tech greenhouses in strategic locations across Nigeria.

This initiative involves constructing temperature-controlled greenhouses in Abuja, Ogun State, and Giri, among others, to ensure a steady food supply. NALDA plans to engage youth in managing the facilities and empower women farmers by focusing on open-field vegetable cultivation in every federal constituency.
