NAMA Appeals to NASS for Financial Autonomy and End to Deductions

The Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) is seeking support from the National Assembly to end the 50% revenue deduction and achieve financial autonomy. Managing Director Engr Farouk Umar emphasized the importance of financial autonomy for modernizing Nigeria's aviation sector.

Umar highlighted the challenges NAMA faces due to the current deduction, impacting infrastructure maintenance and service delivery. Enforcing the NAMA Act's provisions is crucial for the agency to meet its responsibilities, upgrade critical systems, and comply with international safety standards set by the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO).

NAMA's plea for financial autonomy aims to enhance operational efficiency and ensure uninterrupted services for airlines.
