NANS Condemns Maiduguri Bomb Attacks, Calls for Probe

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has condemned the recent suicide bomb attacks in Maiduguri, Borno State, describing them as senseless acts of violence that claimed innocent lives and left many injured. In a statement issued on Tuesday, the coordinator of NANS Zone E North East, Muazu Hina, expressed deep sympathy for the government and people of Borno State, particularly the families of those who lost loved ones in the attacks.

Hina condemned the attacks in the strongest terms, emphasizing the need for solidarity with the victims and wishing for the speedy recovery of the injured. NANS called on security agencies to launch a thorough and transparent investigation into the incidents to bring the perpetrators to justice.

Furthermore, Hina urged the federal government to intensify efforts to tackle insecurity in the North East and ensure the safety of students, especially those studying in institutions within the region. The attacks, which occurred almost simultaneously on a Monday, resulted in at least 23 deaths and over 100 injuries.
