Napoli Faces New Scandal Over Victor Osimhen's Transfer from Lille - Investigation Underway

Napoli faces a new scandal over Victor Osimhen's transfer from Lille following leaked emails suggesting discrepancies in the deal. Osimhen joined Lille from Belgian club Royal Charleroi in 2019 before moving to Napoli in 2020 for a record fee.

The Italian Football Federation (FIGC) has launched an investigation into possible false accounting as part of a probe into the transfer. Napoli included four players in the deal, but questions arose as none of the youngsters had debuted for Lille by 2021.

Despite Napoli being cleared of wrongdoing initially, the case has been reopened multiple times. Osimhen left Napoli in 2024 after a successful stint.

The investigation also involves a capital gain from 2019 to 2021, including the deal with Lille.
