NARTO and Associations Join Petroleum Strike Amid Dangote Refinery Dispute

The Nigerian Association of Road Transport Owners (NARTO) and other associations are set to join a petroleum strike initiated by the Petroleum Tanker Drivers (PTD) Branch of NUPENG. This decision follows Dangote Refinery's plan to deploy CNG trucks for direct fuel distribution, impacting petroleum product suppliers and end-users.

The associations expressed concerns over potential job losses and disruptions in the distribution value chain. They called for government intervention to address the situation and safeguard livelihoods.

The strike, scheduled to begin on September 9, aims to draw attention to the implications of Dangote's shift in fuel distribution methods.
