NUPENG Set to Strike Over Dispute with Dangote Refinery, FG Calls for Dialogue

The Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) has announced plans to embark on a strike following a dispute with Dangote Refinery over the inclusion of newly imported Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) trucks in the union. The Federal Government has urged for a truce, emphasizing the importance of dialogue to resolve the conflict.

NUPENG's President, Williams Akporeha, stated that the union would proceed with the strike, impacting petroleum product lifting nationwide. NUPENG disowned statements attributed to the President of the Direct Trucking Company Drivers Association (DTCDA) and clarified its position on the industrial action, urging Nigerians to disregard misleading information.
