NASA Targets April 1 for Artemis 2 Crewed Moon Mission

NASA has announced that it is aiming for April 1 as the launch date for the Artemis 2 mission, which will be the first crewed flyby of the moon in 50 years. Lori Glaze, a senior NASA official, stated that the agency is working towards this date despite technical difficulties that have delayed the launch.

The Artemis 2 mission is set to include three American astronauts—Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, and Christina Koch—and one Canadian astronaut, Jeremi Hansen. The mission will circumnavigate the Earth and travel to the moon without landing, reaching a distance of 4,000 to 6,000 miles above the lunar surface.

The exact launch time is scheduled for 6:24 PM GMT on April 1, with several other launch opportunities available within a six-day period. This mission follows the Artemis 1 test flight and is part of a broader plan that includes future missions aimed at landing humans on the moon by 2028.
