Ethnic Groups Demand Fair Candidate Selection in Nasarawa

On Thursday, ethnic groups in Nasarawa State called for a transparent and democratic process for selecting candidates for the 2027 gubernatorial election. Comrade Sila Dauda, speaking on behalf of the Ethnic Nation Forum during a press conference in Lafia, stated that the next governor should emerge through credible and fair processes rather than through imposition or pressure from any individual.

Dauda expressed concern over Governor Abdullahi Sule's previous declarations, which he deemed significant but lacking broad consultation with the ethnic nations. The forum warned that if the governor attempts to reverse the decision for a transparent process, the electorate would have no choice but to vote against any imposed candidate in the upcoming election.
