Nasarawa State Hub for Gunrunning Syndicates; Security Forces Make Arrests

Recent events have highlighted Nasarawa State as a significant transit route for gunrunning syndicates operating across several states in North Central Nigeria. Security agencies, including the Nigeria Police Force, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and the Department of State Services (DSS), have conducted successful operations targeting arms trafficking in the state.

Arrests and seizures of a large cache of weapons, including AK-47 rifles, have been made, with suspects linked to illegal arms manufacturing and distribution networks. The syndicate based in Nasarawa has been supplying arms to criminal elements, including bandits, kidnappers, and groups involved in communal clashes.

Security operations have intensified in the region to combat these criminal activities.
