Nasarawa State Aims to Boost Rice Production, Targets 1.2 Million Bags Harvest

Nasarawa State, under Governor Abdullahi Sule, is set to increase rice production with a target harvest of 1.2 million bags, surpassing 600,000 bags within the first two weeks. The state government owns large-scale farms in Jangwa Agwatashi area, cultivating 3,300 hectares with 10,000 hectares earmarked for the ongoing rice project.

Partnerships with companies like Silvex International aim to process and market the rice under the Nasacco Gold brand. This initiative aligns with President Bola Tinubu's agricultural transformation agenda, focusing on job creation, food security, and economic stimulation.
