Abdullahi Sule Advocates Peaceful Politics in Nasarawa

On September 29, during the Nasarawa Carnival in Lafia, Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State called for a politics devoid of bitterness as the state marks its 30th anniversary. He urged politicians and citizens to maintain peace and unity, especially with upcoming elections, stating, “Elections are coming very soon.

I know we cannot all be on the same page, but let us disagree with respect.” Sule highlighted that peace is essential for development and noted the state’s transformation since its creation from Plateau State in 1996. He mentioned that Nasarawa is rich in minerals and has attracted significant investments, including Africa's largest lithium processing plant.

Sule commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for economic reforms aiding state development and announced support for the creation of state police. He also mentioned upcoming anniversary activities, including a symposium and a football match between Nasarawa and Plateau States, while reflecting on improvements in peace, workers’ welfare, healthcare, and education since 2019.
