Nasarawa State Marks 30 Years of Rapid Development

Nasarawa State, established on October 1, 1996, by the late General Sani Abacha, is preparing to celebrate its 30th anniversary. Development experts recognize it as one of Nigeria's fastest-growing states, with significant infrastructure advancements.

A notable project is the 2.6-kilometre twin flyover in Mararaba, Karu Local Government Area, valued at N39 billion, aimed at alleviating traffic congestion on the FCT-Nasarawa corridor. Managed by Triacta Nigeria Limited, the project is expected to be completed by December 2026.

The state capital, Lafia, has transformed into a mega city, featuring a new State Secretariat complex, described by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as a “towering beauty.” Over its 30 years, Nasarawa has been led by six leaders, including the current governor, Engr. Abdullahi Alhaji Sule, and has seen contributions from past leaders in various sectors, particularly in education and agriculture.
