NASENI and Kaduna State Empower 500 Residents with Solar Kits

The National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) and the Kaduna State Government have empowered 500 residents with solar home systems, clean cooking stoves, and support packs to enhance livelihoods and alleviate economic pressures. The beneficiaries included 450 women and 50 men from all 23 local government areas in Kaduna.
Governor Uba Sani, during the programme's unveiling, emphasized the initiative's alignment with his administration's commitment to expanding economic opportunities through science and technology. He praised President Bola Tinubu for supporting initiatives that translate the Renewed Hope Agenda into tangible benefits.
Khalil Suleiman Halilu, NASENI's Executive Vice Chairman and CEO, stated that the programme aims to bring the benefits of science and engineering to grassroots communities, promoting locally produced technologies. The solar systems will provide lighting for households, while the clean stoves will reduce fuel consumption and smoke exposure.
The initiative also aims to stimulate enterprise development and create jobs in local production and maintenance.
