NASFS: Strengthening Nigerian Army’s Combat Power, Retooling Training Architecture for Unconventional Warfare

The Nigerian Army has relocated its Special Forces School to Doma, Nasarawa State, in a strategic move to enhance combat power and retool training for unconventional warfare. The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, emphasized the importance of providing elite troops with high-quality training to compete globally and tackle evolving security threats.

The new facility marks a significant step towards creating a highly skilled force capable of dominating complex battlefields. The relocation signifies a shift towards specialized training and aims to ensure that Nigerian Special Forces are on par with the best globally.

Lt. Oluyede also inaugurated two major projects, including a modern headquarters and officers' mess, to enhance operational effectiveness and welfare.

The move is part of a broader effort to strengthen the Army's fighting capacity and boost morale among officers and men. Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State commended the Army for its role in stabilizing the region and enabling economic activities to thrive.
