Nigerian Army Launches 2026 Recruitment Drive

The Nigerian Army has officially announced the commencement of its recruitment drive for the 2026 Regular Recruit Intake, which includes tradesmen and women as well as non-tradesmen and women. The application process will begin on Sunday, March 30, 2026, and will close on Saturday, May 17, 2026.

Interested candidates are advised to apply through the official recruitment portal at http://recruit.army.mil.ng. This recruitment follows the successful conduct of the 90th Regular Recruit Intake in 2025, aimed at strengthening the ranks of the Nigerian Army.

Applicants must be Nigerian citizens, with non-tradesmen and women aged between 18 to 22 years and tradesmen and women aged between 17 to 25 years. They must also meet a minimum height requirement of 1.68 meters for males and 1.58 meters for females.

Additionally, candidates are required to possess valid identification, including a National Identification Number (NIN) and a Bank Verification Number (BVN), to curb fraud and ensure transparency. The Army emphasizes that the registration process is entirely free and warns the public against fraudsters who may demand payment for assistance.
