2026 National U12/15 Handball Championship in Umuahia

The Handball Federation of Nigeria (HFN), represented by Secretary General Monica Otumala, announced that the 2026 National U12/15 Handball Championship will take place in Umuahia. The tournament is scheduled to run from March 24 to April 1, 2026, with team arrivals expected on March 23, 2026.

Player screening is set for March 24 at 9:30 AM. The schedule was adjusted to avoid a clash with the Sallah holiday, but other arrangements remain unchanged.

Otumala emphasized the importance of teams ensuring that players meet the approved age categories and possess National Identification Numbers (NIN) along with passport photographs during screening. She warned against the poaching of underage players, stating that teams found in violation will face strict sanctions.

The final registration list must include players' biometric data and must reach the HFN secretariat by March 10, 2026. Late submissions will incur penalties.

Winners and runners-up will have the opportunity to represent Nigeria at international events such as the Partil Cup in Sweden and the Teramo Cup in Italy.
