Navy Arrests Personnel After Clash with Soldiers in Bayelsa

The Nigerian Navy has confirmed the arrest of personnel involved in a clash with soldiers in Bayelsa State. This incident occurred during President Bola Tinubu's visit on Friday to inaugurate a 60-megawatt gas turbine plant in Elebel Ogbia Local Government Area.

The president also inaugurated the 630-meter Angiama Oporoma Bridge and the 2.9 km dual carriageway in Yenagoa. Following the clash, which was captured on video and went viral, the Director of Naval Information, Captain Abi Folorunso, stated that the involved personnel have been taken into custody and are undergoing disciplinary procedures in accordance with military regulations.

The Navy has emphasized that appropriate administrative actions are being taken against the personnel involved in the incident.
