Troops and NDLEA Arrest 26 Suspects in Bayelsa Raid

On April 1, 2023, troops from the 16 Brigade conducted a raid in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, in collaboration with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), leading to the arrest of 26 suspects. This operation is part of ongoing efforts to dismantle criminal networks and curb illicit drug activities in the state.

During the raid, security sources disclosed that among those arrested was a soldier from the 343 Artillery Regiment, who has reportedly been absent without official leave since 2019. The operation resulted in the recovery of two locally made pistols and a substantial quantity of hard drugs and illicit substances.

The suspects and recovered items have been handed over to the NDLEA for further investigation and possible prosecution.
