Navy Advocates for ENC Golf Tournament in Tourism Calendar

The Nigerian Navy is seeking to have the Eastern Naval Command (ENC) Golf Tournament formally included in the Cross River tourism calendar to leverage its potential for boosting visitor traffic and revenue. This call was made by former Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Dele Ezeoba (rtd), during the 2026 edition of the tournament, which is scheduled to be held on a Sunday at the Calabar Golf Course.

Ezeoba praised the organizers for staging the event, which drew golfers from across the country, and emphasized the need for sustained support to evolve the tournament into a major tourism attraction. He urged the Cross River government to partner with the organizers to strengthen funding and expand participation.

Rear Admiral Chiedozi Okehi, the flag officer commanding ENC, disclosed that the 2026 edition is expected to attract 152 golfers nationwide. Deputy Governor Peter Odei commended the organizers and encouraged participation, highlighting Cross River as a prime destination for tourism investment.
