Nigerian Navy Supports 300 Widows in Niger Delta Outreach

On a Saturday in Warri, Delta State, the Nigerian Navy, through the Nigerian Naval Ship NN Delta, conducted an outreach program supporting 300 widows from military, paramilitary, and civilian backgrounds in the Niger Delta region. This event, which took place before the Jummat service at the NN Delta Mosque, featured the distribution of food items, textiles, and household supplies, including rice, garri, and vegetable oil.

Commodore Shehu Tasiu emphasized that the outreach aimed to support widows of deceased military officers and vulnerable civilians identified by the community. He highlighted the importance of building trust between the Navy and local communities, stating that the Navy does not operate in isolation.

The event also included speeches and counseling sessions, with attendees expressing gratitude for the support. Vice Admiral Idi Abba and other dignitaries attended, reinforcing the Navy's commitment to recognizing and supporting families of fallen heroes.
