Nigerian Navy Celebrates 70th Anniversary with Widow Outreach

To commemorate its 70th anniversary, the Nigerian Navy, through NNS Delta, distributed welfare packages to 300 widows of fallen military personnel in Delta State. The event, attended by dignitaries including Commodore Shehu Mohammed Tasiu, emphasized the Navy's commitment to supporting families left behind by service members.

Tasiu noted the burdens carried by these families and highlighted the importance of recognizing their sacrifices. The outreach included food and gift items, aiming to create avenues for dialogue and support.

Community leaders, including Princess Pat Ajudua and CSP Omosetemi Agbed Zuokumor, encouraged the widows to remain resilient and emphasized their legal rights. Mr. Morayo Salami, representing the beneficiaries, expressed gratitude to the Navy for their remembrance and support.

The event featured prayers and reflections on the Navy's role in national security and community development, reinforcing the bond between military personnel and civilians.
