Nigerian Navy Denounces Fake Recruitment Notice

The Nigerian Navy has officially dismissed a recruitment notice circulating on social media, which falsely claims to announce its 2026 Batch 39 recruitment exercise. Capt. Abiodun Folorunsho, the Director of Naval Information, stated that the notice was not authorized by the Navy and should not be considered an official recruitment announcement.

He advised prospective applicants and the public to be cautious and to disregard any recruitment information from unofficial social media accounts, websites, and other unauthorized sources. Capt. Folorunsho emphasized that official recruitment details, including eligibility requirements, application procedures, timelines, and recruitment categories, will only be communicated through authorized Navy channels.

He provided the official websites for Nigerian Navy recruitment as http://www.joinnigeriannavy.navy.mil.ng and https://navy.mil.ng. Additionally, he warned against making payments to unauthorized individuals or platforms, stressing that the recruitment process is free and that the Navy does not authorize third parties to recruit applicants or collect fees.
