CJN Launches Nigeria's First National Law Firms Directory

At the 2026 annual conference of the Nigerian Bar Association's Section on Legal Practice held at the National Theatre in Iganmu, Lagos, Hon. Justice Kudirat Keker Ekun, the Chief Justice of Nigeria, unveiled the country's first official National Law Firms Directory.

This directory is designed to serve as a reliable resource for clients, investors, and the public, promoting professional standards across law firms in Nigeria. During her address, she cautioned lawyers against treating legal practice as a profit-driven enterprise and emphasized the need for practitioners to maintain ethical standards to restore public confidence in the legal profession.

Hon. Justice Ekun also called for an urgent reawakening of ethics within the legal profession and encouraged lawyers to embrace technological advancements while upholding core ethical values.

The conference attracted prominent members of the bar and bench and included discussions on modernizing Nigeria's legal system within the global legal landscape.
