Women's Premier League Second Phase Begins Today

The second phase of the 2026 Nigeria Basketball Federation and Zenith Bank Plc Women’s Premier League commences today, with matches scheduled at the Basketball Stadium in Port Harcourt and the Indoor Hall of Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria. The MFM Women Basketball Team, a two-time league champion, enters the Atlantic Conference as the team to beat after winning all their games in the first phase held at the Indoor Sports Hall of the National Stadium in Surulere, Lagos.

MFM will kick off their campaign against IGP Queens, who finished last in the conference without a victory in the first phase. Other matches include Victoria Queens versus First Deep Water and First Bank against defending champions Dolphins, who must perform well to avoid relegation.

In the Savannah Conference, Titans will face Kada Angels, while NAM Warriors will play ASO SKY Queens. The top four teams from each conference will qualify for the Final 8 in Lagos to determine the league champion.
