NCAA: KWAM 1’s airport disruption comparable to terrorism in many countries

The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) strongly condemned Fuji legend Wasiu Ayinde, also known as KWAM 1, for his recent behavior at an airport, comparing it to terrorism in many countries. The NCAA's Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Mike Achimugu, criticized the singer for allegedly disrupting a ValueJet flight by accessing a restricted area and not obeying instructions from airport officials.

Achimugu emphasized that in many countries, such behavior could be considered terrorism as it poses a threat to aircraft safety. The NCAA has launched an investigation into the incident, with the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Aviation Security Service (AVSEC), and Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) all involved.

KWAM 1 has been placed on a watchlist pending the conclusion of the probe. The NCAA had previously petitioned the Attorney General of the Federation and the Inspector General of Police over the incident, citing a violation of Nigerian Civil Aviation Regulations.
