NCAA blacklists K1 De Ultimate from flying for six months over airport misconduct

The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has imposed a six-month flight ban on legendary Fuji musician K1 De Ultimate, also known as Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, for an alleged breach of aviation security protocol at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja. The ban was confirmed by NCAA's Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Michael Achimugu, who emphasized the importance of aviation safety regulations applying to all, regardless of social status.

The ban comes after K1 De Ultimate's refusal to comply with safety screening procedures while boarding a ValueJet flight on August 5, 2025. The Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo, has expressed support for the rule of law and directed NCAA to place K1 on a list pending a full investigation into the incident.

K1 has denied any wrongdoing and is cooperating with authorities to resolve the matter responsibly.
