NCAA Automates License Issuance for Enhanced Aviation Safety

The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) is strengthening its regulatory system by automating the issuance of licenses, which is designed to create a seamless and transparent certification process. This initiative is part of a broader transformation aimed at enhancing the efficiency of the licensing ecosystem and reducing bureaucratic paperwork.

The NCAA's efforts are aligned with the regulatory frameworks of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) to ensure that local certifications maintain global relevance. The first phase of this project will focus specifically on personnel licensing (PEL) and medical certification.

Captain Chris Najomo, the Director General of the NCAA, emphasized that this digital transformation initiative is crucial for the aviation workforce, especially as global scrutiny intensifies and regulatory systems evolve. The NCAA aims to deploy a robust medical certification platform that reflects a shift toward data-driven intelligence and compliance in licensing.
