NCAA Launches Portal to Enhance Drone Operations in Nigeria

The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has unveiled a new digital portal designed to streamline drone operations in Nigeria. This announcement was made by Michael Achimugu, the Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection at NCAA, during a statement issued on Saturday.

The portal will be launched at the upcoming DroneTecX 2026 event, scheduled for May 12-16 at the Nigeria International Drone Technology Conference and Exhibition at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos State. The initiative marks a significant step in Nigeria's efforts to enhance the regulatory framework for drone operations, facilitating the growth of the industry.

The portal aims to simplify the processes for drone registration, operational certification, incident reporting, ownership transfer, and compliance management for individuals and small to medium-sized enterprises. It will provide a user-friendly platform for submitting documents, tracking application status in real-time, and ensuring full compliance with Nigerian civil aviation regulations.

NCAA encourages stakeholders to explore the platform ahead of its formal rollout.
