NCAA Summons Air Peace Over Flight Disruptions

The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has summoned Air Peace, Nigeria's largest airline, for an urgent meeting scheduled for Monday, following a series of unexplained disruptions that have stranded passengers. Michael Achimugu, the Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection at NCAA, disclosed that the meeting aims to address complaints from passengers regarding the airline's Heathrow-Abuja service, which has experienced multiple diversions.

Passengers reported being rerouted via Gatwick and left stranded in Lagos without clear communication about their travel plans. Achimugu emphasized that the NCAA has received numerous complaints about delays and unresolved compensation issues, stating that the authority does not tolerate situations where passengers are abandoned without support.

He confirmed that a formal investigation into the disruptions will be launched, and appropriate actions will be taken. The NCAA remains committed to protecting the rights of stakeholders and holding domestic carriers to the strictest operational standards.
